Coatesville Police Arrest Man on Aggravated Assault Charges – Daily Local

COATESVILLE – On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, Coatesville Police were dispatched to 31 South 10th Avenue for a report of shots fired. The caller initially reported that a male juvenile pulled out what looked like a gun and fired into the air.

Officers made contact with the caller who advised the altercation occurred in the 700 block of East Harmony Street. The caller reported that he drove past the suspect and a woman. The caller greeted the couple, which led to a misunderstanding of words and an argument. The man then pulled out a gun and fired in the direction of the caller.

Coatesville police located the suspect, later identified as Sharode Smith of Philadelphia, in the 500 block of East Harmony Street. Smith, 23, was found to be in possession of a firearm and was taken into custody without incident. Smith was charged with aggravated assault and related offenses. Smith was arraigned and returned to the Chester County Jail after failing to post $50,000 bail.
