During a traffic stop, a teenager is arrested for several drug offenses

GIBSON CO., Ind. (WFIE) – A traffic stop on I-69 led to an Oakland City teen being arrested on drug and reckless driving charges.

According to a news release, a Toyota Camry was traveling at 103 mph on Interstate 69 near the 27 mph mark, prompting officers to conduct a traffic stop.

Officials say that after the vehicle stopped, the driver, later identified as 19-year-old Dylan Besing, turned halfway into the center median and partially into the passing lane.

Officers said they found marijuana and drug paraphernalia on the side of the road during the investigation.

Besing was taken to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, criminal recklessness, reckless driving, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
