Dutch Eurovision contestant not rehearsing “until further notice” due to “incident”.

The Dutch Eurovision contestant is under investigation for an unspecified incident and will not rehearse “until further notice.”

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU), which is responsible for the Eurovision Song Contest, refused to provide further details about the case or the subject of the investigation.

It is unknown whether Joost Klein will perform at the Eurovision final in the Swedish city of Malmö on Saturday. He was previously scheduled to appear fifth on the night, just after Israel’s Eden Golan.

During a recent press conference, Klein questioned Israel’s entry in 2024 and asked the Israeli singer why she chose not to answer questions about whether she believed she posed a security risk.

A Polish journalist asked: “Have you ever thought that your presence brings risks and dangers to other participants and the public?”

Golan was told she didn’t have to answer the question, but Klein intervened and asked, “Why not?”

Israel’s entry into this year’s Eurovision Song Contest was controversial. At least 10,000 people, including Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, attended rallies in Malmö this week, protesting Israel’s involvement in the event.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has spoken out She supported Golan, saying in a social media post that she had “successfully confronted an ugly wave of anti-Semitism – and you are standing up to it and representing the State of Israel with great honor.”
