Daryl Dixon – “The Book Of Carol” gets a trailer and a big announcement for the third season

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol is quite a chunk, to say the least. From here on, I will be calling the show Daryl Dixon Season 2. I don’t think Carol (Melissa McBride) joining the cast really justifies a title change.

In any case, we now have an official trailer thanks to San Diego Comic-Con, where a whole host of shows and movies get new trailers and reveals, from The Rings of Power To The Walking Dead and beyond.

In the trailer, we see Daryl (Norman Reedus) hanging out with Isabelle (Clémence Poésy) and Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi) while Carol searches for him before she eventually makes it to France somehow. The trailer contains a few spoilers, but I suppose there was never any chance that Carol’s efforts would fail.

In addition to the new trailer, we also learned this weekend that AMC has renewed the series for Season 3 and will take our heroes from France to Spain.

Production on the series begins next month in Madrid, with additional filming in the regions of Galicia, Aragon, Catalonia and Valencia. France was certainly a welcome change from the American South, but I still can’t suppress my skepticism. Why would a group in France use millions of gallons of precious fuel to send a tanker to America, only to bring back more zombies? That’s ridiculous. As is the whole story of Laurent, the “Chosen One.”

But I have to admit, the show had some great production values and Reedus and the supporting cast did a good job, even though the script was very odd. Maybe season 2 will be an improvement.
