WARREN, RI (WLNE) — A Greenville man was arrested earlier this month for sexually assaulting a woman while employed at the Grace Barker nursing home.

Erick Sajche Meza, 32, was charged with second-degree sexual assault after a 76-year-old woman told staff that an employee had touched her inappropriately.

When police arrived at the scene on July 4, they met a social worker who told them that the woman had identified the employee by the identification he was carrying.

The victim further stated that the defendant entered her room during the nightly visit and helped her roommate.

During this time, according to the victim, he climbed on top of her and pretended to have sex with her.

The victim stated that the defendant was fully clothed during the crime.

She stated that she told the defendant to stop, but he did not stop.

According to police, surveillance videos show the defendant making his rounds in front of the victim’s room during the night.

The defendant was observed entering the victim’s room and leaving shortly afterwards.

According to police, the Grace Barker Nursing Home conducts quarterly cognitive tests on its residents. The victim performed very well on the test and was questioned several times about the incident.

Her story remained consistent.

Meza’s employment has been suspended pending the investigation.

After the investigation/case was reviewed by the Attorney General’s Office, an arrest warrant was issued.

His bail is currently set at $10,000 and his next court date is October 25.
