Report of vehicle theft leads to murder investigation

KANSAS CITY – Law enforcement is investigating a homicide after a man was found injured and died in Kansas City.

Shortly after 4 p.m. Friday, police responded to NE 34th and NE Chouteau Trafficway in Kansas City after a report of a stolen vehicle, according to Sheriff Daryl Forte.

Rescue workers found a man with gunshot wounds in a vehicle. On Sunday, Forte said, police learned that the victim had succumbed to his injuries.

Police have not released any further information, including the victim’s name.
