Man faces trial for alleged sexual assault of minors – FBC News

The man accused of sexually abusing three minors on ten occasions in Suva appeared before the Suva Magistrates Court this afternoon.

The 45-year-old man is accused of eight counts of sexual assault and one count of indecent touching.

He is accused of sexually abusing three girls aged 13, 14 and 16 between February last year and March this year.

The accused was the girl’s sports coach. The incident is said to have occurred during training sessions.

It is alleged that he committed the crimes in his car, at home and also in Suva Point.

The Suva Magistrates Court granted him bail in the amount of US$500.

He has opted for proceedings before the district court.

A travel ban was issued against the defendant and his travel documents were confiscated.

All first phase disclosures have also been delivered.

The hearing of his case was adjourned until the 28th of next month.
