Walla Walla man arrested after allegedly filming woman in public restroom | News

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – A 21-year-old man was arrested on voyeurism charges at Whitman College Thursday afternoon for allegedly filming a woman in a public restroom.

Walla Walla police said officers were called to Pioneer Park just before 11 a.m. by a woman who reported being followed by a man at an uncomfortable distance. Police spoke with him and released him because no crime had been committed at the time.

According to WWPD, several complaints have been received in recent weeks about a man filming and following women at Walla Walla Community College. The man was captured in images that matched the 21-year-old who followed the woman on Thursday.

Later, at 12:40 p.m., another call came in to Whitman College reporting that a man had followed a woman into the bathroom and attempted to videotape her. She filmed the man and showed the video to police, who recognized him and later took him into custody.

NonStop Local typically does not disclose suspects’ names until charges are officially filed against them.

The man was reportedly booked into the Walla Walla County Jail on a first-degree voyeurism charge. WWPD is urging anyone who has been similarly followed or filmed by an unknown man to call Crime Stoppers at 509-527-4434.
