Harris County receives price gouging reports after Beryl case

HOUSTON (KIAH) — The Harris County District Attorney’s Office said it has received nearly 200 reports of price gouging since Hurricane Beryl hit Texas.

Given that we are currently in a state of disaster, prices for food, water, gasoline, and hotels should not be higher than they normally are.

If you suspect price gouging, make sure you have the company name and the date.

Also take a picture of the price listed or keep the receipt if you have already paid.

Price gouging is against the law and should be reported to the Texas Attorney General’s Office at (800) 621-0508 or online at https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/consumer-protection.
