14-year-old killed in nighttime shooting on southeast side

SAN ANTONIO – A 14-year-old was killed in a late-night shooting on the Southeast Side.

San Antonio police said the boy, identified as Timothy Chavez, was shot multiple times at 11:45 p.m. Monday in the 3800 block of S. Mittman St., near Fair Avenue and Goliad Road.

His death was pronounced at the scene.

Police said the shooting occurred on the street in front of his home. Neighbors told police they heard a car speeding away after the shooting.

The shooting is under investigation.
