Police investigate gunshot wound and killing in east Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – One person died after being shot multiple times in East Charlotte late Thursday night. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Headquarters said.

The shooting occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Bonneville Drive, a residential area just off Kilborne Drive.

Police said the person died at the scene.

The homicide squad was called to the neighborhood and began investigating.

CMPD did not say whether any arrests have been made in this case, nor have officials released the name of the victim.
