David Loving named president and CEO of KHOU-KTBU Houston

Tegna on Thursday named David Loving president and general manager of KHOU (CBS) and KTBU (Quest) in Houston, effective May 20. Loving was most recently president and CEO of Tegna’s WOI and KCWI in Des Moines, Iowa.

An industry veteran, this new appointment marks a return to Houston, where Loving previously served as President and General Manager of Univision’s KXLN from 2010 to 2019. At Univision Houston, Loving received the annual award from Univision CEO Camara From Empresarios Latinos de Houston Executive. of the Year and the Latino Learning Center Humanitarian Award from the Texas Governor’s Office.

“Among a large pool of candidates, David stood out for his understanding of what ‘Defending Houston’ really means,” said Brad Ramsey, senior vice president of media operations at Tegna. “His prior experience in Houston is invaluable and I’m excited to see what he and the talented KHOU team can accomplish together.”

Loving said, “Returning to Houston, one of the greatest cities in the United States, fills me with immense excitement. Loving is a graduate of Texas A&M University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in English. He spent 28 years of his 34-year professional career in various positions in Houston, Austin and San Antonio, and is a former board member of the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Gulf Coast Chamber of Mexico in the United States and the Texas Association of Broadcasters. .
