Rankin County man killed in single-vehicle rollover crash

RANKIN COUNTY, Mississippi (WLBT) – A Rankin County man was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash Wednesday.

According to the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred around 6 a.m. at the intersection of Old Fannin Road and Eagle Drive in the Reservoir area.

Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey said a Volkswagen SUV apparently left the road, struck a light pole and overturned.

Rankin County, Reservoir Police, Reservoir Fire Department, Pafford Ambulance Service and Rankin County EOC arrived at the scene.

The driver was trapped in the vehicle during the accident, suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.

Rankin County Coroner David Ruth also arrived at the scene.

The man’s identity was not disclosed.

The accident is currently being investigated by Rankin County officials.
