Edgewater man killed in hit-and-run on Tuesday, police searching for driver

DENVER (KDVR) – Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed an Edgewater man.

According to Lakewood police, the pedestrian was struck by a car at around 11:49 p.m. Tuesday at the corner of West 14th Avenue and Carr Street. The area is just west of the intersection of Wadsworth Boulevard and West Colfax Avenue.

Police identified the pedestrian as Donald Jones, 41, of Edgewater, who suffered serious injuries in the crash and was taken to a local hospital. Medical personnel eventually pronounced him dead.

Police reported that witnesses had only vague descriptions of the suspect and the suspect vehicle. It was believed to be a gold or silver sedan traveling east on West 14th Avenue. License plate information was not provided.
