“Sports coach” arrested for sexually harassing schoolgirls in Melkote, Karnataka

Melkote (Mandya district): Melkote police have arrested a man under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for sexually harassing high school students.

The accused is said to be a former student of the school who supervised the students in sports on a voluntary basis.

He is accused of sexually harassing and threatening the students. The students were upset by his behavior and reported their fate to the district’s child protection officials.

Based on the complaint of Child Protection Officer SM Shailaja, the police have filed a case. The accused has been arrested and is in custody.

In the complaint, the students alleged that the accused was in the gym and took photos of them while they were changing, blackmailed them into sharing the photos in WhatsApp groups and sexually harassed them.
