3 men arrested in Bastrop for attempted second-degree murder

BASTROP, Louisiana (KNOE) – On July 9, Bastrop Police arrested three men for attempted first-degree murder.

According to authorities, Bastrop police responded to a call about a home invasion on December 17, 2023. Officers said the victim was sleeping when three men broke into her home and attacked her. In a social media post, BPD said, “The victim was beaten so severely that he fell into a coma and was hospitalized for an extended period of time.”

The BPD announced that the investigation was completed today (July 9) and 20-year-old Brandon Heard, 43-year-old Richard Donnell Brown and 38-year-old Rayshawn Eugene Lewis were arrested.

Heard, Brown and Lewis were each charged with attempted premeditated murder, burglary and conspiracy.
