Man taking out trash hit in crossfire during argument, Atlanta police say – 95.5 WSB

ATLANTA, Ga. — A man is in the hospital after being shot while taking out the trash in southwest Atlanta.

Channel 2’s Bryan Mims was on Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard, where the victim was caught in the crossfire of a shootout shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The 56-year-old victim, whose identity has not been released, was taken to hospital with a graze wound. He is currently recovering at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Police said the man was an innocent victim who was caught in the crossfire of an accident after simply leaving his home.

There were still bullet holes in the window of a house and tracks in the grass Tuesday afternoon.

Mims spoke to a woman who did not want to go on camera but said the victim lived alone below her home.

A police spokesman said the investigation remained open and active.

Police have not released any information about suspects or motive.
