One dead, two injured in shooting in north St. Louis

ST. LOUIS – One man was killed and two others were injured in three separate shootings on the city’s north side. Authorities have arrested one person in connection with one of the shootings. Two of these cases are being investigated as homicides.

One of the murders occurred last night around 8 p.m. in the Walnut Park East neighborhood. A 56-year-old man was found in a van with a fatal gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.


Earlier this afternoon, another shooting in the St. Louis Place neighborhood left a 35-year-old man critically injured with multiple gunshot wounds. His condition is described as critical and unstable and he is not expected to survive. Investigators are also treating this case as a potential homicide.

A third incident occurred in the Hamilton Heights neighborhood last night around 9 p.m. A 56-year-old man was shot in the hand but was conscious and breathing when police found him.
