Chicago police investigate lightning strike in Lincoln Park

CHICAGO (CBS) — Chicago police are investigating an early morning lightning burglary on the city’s north side.

Burglars drove a Jeep into a Smoke Valley tobacco store in Lincoln Park.

Officials said it happened around 6 a.m. near North and Clybourne.

It is unclear what the burglars stole, but officials say they left the SUV at the scene and then fled.

A resident who has lived above the tobacco shop for two years said this had happened before.

The neighbor said the tobacco shop owners put up a gate the first time something like this happened.

So far no arrests have been made.
