Louisiana State Police investigate East Carroll Parish homicide involving three teens | KTVE

LAKE PROVIDENCE, Louisiana. (KTVE/KARD) – On Sunday, July 7, 2024, at approximately 2 a.m., the Louisiana State Police/CID/Detectives-Monroe Field Office (LSP MFO) were requested by the East Carroll Parish Sheriff’s Office (ECPSO) to investigate a homicide that occurred near Charles D. Jones Boulevard.

The investigation revealed that 19-year-old Earineca Brown was shot and later died at a nearby hospital. A second victim, a 15-year-old youth, was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and released.


Investigators identified the perpetrator as a 16-year-old boy who admitted to shooting at a group of people at a “street party.” The juvenile perpetrator was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. He is being held without bail at the Jackson Parish Correctional Center/Juvenile Division.

LSP MFO will act as the lead investigative authority, assisted by ECPSO. The investigation is ongoing. No further information is currently available.
