Cortland man accused of assaulting and sexually assaulting nurses

CORTLAND, NY (WHCU) – A Cortland man is facing multiple charges following alleged incidents at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center.

According to police, 45-year-old Francisco Rodriguez assaulted and sexually assaulted two nurses on Sunday and Tuesday. Rodriguez is accused of threatening to harm and rape the female employees during the incidents.

Rodriguez was arrested Tuesday and charged with attempted rape, aggravated sexual abuse, negligent touching and unlawful imprisonment.

Rodriguez was taken to the Cortland County Jail on $500,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Cortland City Court on May 29.
