CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) – Seven more people have been arrested as Chesterfield Police continue their investigation into illegal massage businesses.

Last Thursday, police and the Virginia Capital Area Human Trafficking Task Force conducted undercover raids on several businesses in the county.

The operations took place in:

  • Sunshine Health Massage
  • Lucky Star Leisure Centre
  • XL massage
  • Coca-Spa
  • Aura Massage

Police said they visited other stores last week, but no charges were filed.

The following seven people were arrested:

  • Meizhu Chen, 44, of Flushing, NY
  • Saihua Huang, 38, Brooklyn, NY
  • Xiuwen Zhang, 56, of Midlothian, Virginia.
  • Jing Jiang, 55, of N. Chesterfield, Va.
  • Guoqiang Li, 56, of N. Chesterfield, Va.
  • Yun Su, 54, of N. Chesterfield, Va.
  • Kun Liu, 54, no fixed address

“They’ve wanted to do this for some time and now they finally have the opportunity to arrest these individuals and hold them accountable,” said Lt. Edward Pierpont of the Chesterfield Police Department.

All seven people face 22 charges, including prostitution, lack of a massage license or permit and operating a brothel.

If you’re thinking about getting a massage, Lt. Pierpont says there are certain things you should look for, like making sure the business’s license is displayed on the wall.

“Do your homework before you go there, and if you don’t see the normal things there that you would see in a reputable business, leave,” Lt. Pierpont said. “If you are treated a certain way, leave.”
