Gang rape: Seven men abduct and rape Dalit woman, police arrest one | Lucknow News

Lucknow: A 28-year-old Dalit woman accused seven people of raping her after kidnapping her while she was buying medicines in Sushant Golf City police Train station area.
A police team nabbed one of the accused, Anwar Ruyani, a resident of Katra Baksa, who is the main accused in the case. The accused beat up the woman and snatched her mobile phone.In her complaint, the woman stated that she was raped on Tuesday afternoon when she went to the CHC in the area. After being released, she lay in trauma for hours and later in the night went to the police station with a complaint. The police registered a case under various sections, including gang rape, and started searching for the accused.

According to the woman, she was caught by Anwar and his six other companions near Khurdahi market at 12 noon. After a verbal argument, the accused dragged her to a garden and raped her there. When she protested, they beat her. They also took away her mobile phone.
After the incident, the victim told her family about the incident when she returned home. At night, the woman and her family came to Sushant Golf City police station and filed a complaint against seven people, including Anwar.
ADCP South, Shashank Singh, said Anwar’s house was raided and he was caught. The victim is still in shock. “We could not talk to her much,” police said.
“We are searching all possible hiding places of the other people named in the case,” the official said.
