Unknown woman killed in hit-and-run accident on Saturday – Deltaplex News

An as yet unidentified woman was killed in the early hours of Saturday morning when she was struck by a vehicle that disappeared from the scene.

According to a preliminary report, the woman was walking northbound off the road on Hazel Street when the driver of a vehicle apparently lost control, left the road, struck the woman and then left the scene.

The accident was reported at 6:20 a.m. near 34.^th Avenue and Hazel Street.

Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley told Deltaplex News on Tuesday that the state medical examiner is trying to confirm the woman’s identity.

Death was the 238th.^th on the state’s roads and highways so far this year.
