JD Arteagas prepares for year two; First alert: June 15, 2024

With recruiting season now underway for the Miami Hurricanes baseball team, things appear to be heading in the right direction after a disappointing freshman season for JD Arteagas.

Arteagas has been active in the portal to improve a depleted and injured roster from last season. So far this summer, he has received commitments from LHP Robert Evans (Georgia State), RHP Carson Fischer (Davenport), LF Derek Williams (Wichita State), OF Bobby Marsh (Penn State), RHP Griffin Hugus (Cincinnati) and RHP Will Smith (Coastal Carolina) and the portal has just started to open. Other players are there to work with freshman All-American Daniel Cuvet, who will return for his sophomore season after leading the team in many statistical categories.

After this disappointing season, a renowned baseball program still has a lot of improvement to make. The previous season, the team fought its way to the College World Series and had high expectations for the following year. The goal of this team is to fight its way back and be one of the top teams in the ACC again. Arteagas will take the reins and hopefully lead the Canes back to the promised land.
