Biden’s dog Commander bit a Secret Service agent while the president was walking him, records show

The incident occurred in September 2023.

Commander, the First Family’s controversial German Shepherd, bit another U.S. Secret Service agent while President Joe Biden was walking him on the White House grounds, according to newly released records.

According to records obtained by the conservative activist group Judicial Watch and reviewed by ABC News, Biden was walking Commander in Kennedy Garden on September 12, 2023, when the dog bit a Secret Service agent who asked the president for help.

“As I approached him to see if he needed help, Commander ran between his legs and bit my left arm through the front of my jacket. I pulled my arm away and screamed ‘no,'” an anonymous agent said in an email. “As I turned to close the door, Commander jumped again and bit my left arm for the second time.”

The emails were part of Judicial Watch’s Freedom of Information Act lawsuit over U.S. intelligence emails.

The email indicates that while the agent’s coat did not have any skin injuries, it did have dog bites on it.

After press reports that another agent had been bitten, at least one agent became frustrated, according to emails.

“Can we please find a way to muzzle this dog,” wrote the unnamed agent.

According to an ABC News count, the dog was removed from the White House in October after more than 11 biting incidents occurred there.

In one incident, a uniformed Secret Service officer had to be taken to the hospital after being bitten by Commander.
