Skateboarder killed in fatal accident

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo police are investigating a fatal car crash that occurred early Wednesday morning.

Investigators say the crash happened on Niagara Street near Fargo Avenue just before 1 a.m.

A white Dodge Durango was traveling on Niagara Street and allegedly struck a victim before crashing into a parked car. Police said a 21-year-old man died at the scene. The driver fled the scene on foot, according to police.

2 On Your Side was also at the scene as police taped off the area for the investigation.

The Durango is now in custody and one person has been questioned in connection with the crash. The identity of the victim has not been released.
