HUNTER — An Ogdensburg man is lucky to be alive after surviving a 19,000-volt shock that coursed through his body during a tree-felling accident in Greene County last month. The current created a voltage of 19,000 volts.

The state Department of Environmental Protection held a press conference June 7 to honor the first responders who helped save the life of 24-year-old Gary Measheaw of Ogdensburg on May 23. Responders included Department of Environmental Protection forest rangers and officers from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.
