1 dead, 3 hospitalized in crash on I-385 in Laurens Co.

LAURENS COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – One person is dead and three others were injured in a crash on Interstate 385 early Wednesday morning in Laurens County.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at about 2 a.m. near mile marker 12.

Police said a Honda Civic was traveling northbound when it collided with four pedestrians standing in the median next to a broken-down Toyota Ford Runner.

One pedestrian was flown by helicopter to a local hospital, police said. Two others were also hospitalized for their injuries.

According to police, the driver of the Honda Civic was uninjured.

The fourth pedestrian died at the scene of the accident.

The identity of the pedestrian has not yet been determined by the Laurens County Coroner’s Office.

The crash remains under investigation by the SCHP.
