Suspect sought, mysterious death of elderly North Texas woman under investigation

BEDFORD – Police are searching for a man in connection with the mysterious death of an elderly lady in her home on Thursday.

Neighbors in the quiet community say they are on alert after learning that the as-yet-unidentified perpetrator forcibly entered the woman’s home.

“It’s shocking to say the least,” said neighbor Tyler Enloe. “… It happened

right across the street. We’re fine. We’re definitely a little nervous. My wife is pretty far along in her pregnancy, so that’s definitely a concern as well.”

According to police, the woman, who lived on Meadowview Lane, died on Thursday, but her body was not discovered until Friday afternoon.

Bedford police have found surveillance video from nearby homes. This video shows a suspect, possibly wearing a wig, approaching the victim’s front door. According to police, the woman responded and spoke to the unknown suspect, who asked to use her phone. When she refused, he forced his way in, according to police. The surveillance video, which is not publicly available, does not show what happened inside the home, but police say the suspect left a few minutes later.

Meanwhile, Bedford police said the suspect is still at large and urged residents to be vigilant, never open the door to anyone they don’t know and to call 911 immediately if they see anyone suspicious.
