Experienced Disneyland employee dies from injuries sustained in golf cart accident

A Disneyland employee has died from a head injury sustained when she fell from a moving golf cart at the resort.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the Orange County Coroner’s Division has identified the deceased employee as Bonnye Mavis Lear. The 60-year-old was employed at the Disneyland Resort for 24 years and “assisted member services at Club 33,” a private dining club at Disneyland.

Due to the incident, emergency services arrived at the resort shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

According to a statement released by Anaheim Police on Saturday, a clash occurred backstage.

Lear was taken to a local hospital in serious condition, the statement said. She died on Friday, two days after the incident.

“We are heartbroken over the loss of Bonnye and extend our sincere condolences to everyone who cared for her,” Ken Potrock, president of the Disneyland Resort, said in a statement. “At this time, our focus is on supporting her family and our staff through this tragic event and making sure they have the resources they need.”
