Andrew Brown

(Hays County Jail)

SAN MARCOS, TexasA Dripping Springs man has been sentenced to life in prison for sexually abusing a child for over a year.

Andrew Brown, 38, was sentenced in late May after being found guilty in January of the continued sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14. Brown had been released on bail prior to the trial, but his bail was revoked following his conviction.

The evidence showed that Brown volunteered to sexually abuse the child on several occasions when other adults were around, the Hays County District Attorney’s Office said.

During the penalty phase of the trial, evidence came to light that Brown also possessed thousands of child sexual abuse images. The images were found when Brown called a family member from prison and asked them to destroy the storage device containing the images.
