Man arrested for usurping office

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (BRPROUD) – Baton Rouge police arrested a man on Wednesday, May 29, on suspicion of impersonating a police officer and possessing fake identification.

According to a BRPD press release, “Ray Charles Ayo, 46, repeatedly made false statements that he was a police officer.” A BRPD press release stated that Charles was “in possession of fake police identification.”

Officials are urging anyone who may have had interactions with Ayo to call Baton Rouge Police at 225-389-2000 or Crime Stoppers at 225-344-7867.

The BRPD is also investigating a shooting that left one man injured on Sunday, May 26.
