1 dead in Locust Street shooting – The Vicksburg Post

According to the Vicksburg Police Department (VPD), a man was killed after a shooting on Locust Street on Tuesday evening.

VPD officials said officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Locust Street at 11:14 p.m. to respond to a shooting. When they arrived on scene, officers discovered a black man “laying in the street with a gunshot wound to the chest.”

Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The VPD has not released the victim’s name or any information on suspects or arrests, but added that more information will be released as it becomes available.
