Jeffrey Limmer, a 46-year-old lawyer, was shot and killed Saturday, May 4, at a McDonald’s in west Houston, Texas. Limmer, an associate in the Houston office of law firm Lewis Brisbois, engaged with an angry customer at McDonald’s, leading to a fight. Then, around 6 p.m. local time, Limmer was shot and the suspect fled the scene.

Reports indicate that a customer became agitated over an order discrepancy, leading to a refund request. Amid escalating tensions, Limmer intervened to try to defuse the situation.

The argument then spilled outside the fast food restaurant, where an altercation ensued, leading Limmer to push the angry customer to the ground. Then, the customer returned to his vehicle, retrieved a gun and shot Limmer. The suspect fled the scene in a blue Ford pickup truck dating from the early 2000s and remains at large.
