Man arrested after standoff at gas station near Pollock Pines

POLLOCK PINES, Calif. (KOLO) – A California man was arrested Saturday following a standoff at a gas station near Pollock Pines.

On May 25, at approximately 4:00 p.m., the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol received reports of a man armed with a shotgun entering the Chevron gas station in Fresh Pond, California.

According to police, 69-year-old Robert Brewster of Fresh Pond pointed a loaded shotgun at one of the customers after entering the gas station. All customers and employees were able to leave the store unharmed.

When police arrived, they were able to make contact with Brewster, who eventually left the store and peacefully surrendered to police officers.

Brewster was arrested and booked into the El Dorado County Jail on charges of assault with a firearm and other offenses.
