The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 05/25/2024 at approximately 10:30 p.m., a Morrison County Deputy stopped a vehicle on Highway 25, south of Pierz, in Pierz Township. The driver of the vehicle was investigated for speeding and suspicion of driving under the influence.

After a series of sobriety tests, the deputy informed the suspect that he was under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence, and a struggle ensued. During the struggle, the suspect was stabbed and was airlifted to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office has requested that the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension investigate the use of force incident. There is video of this incident that has been turned over to the BCA. Any further inquiries regarding this incident will be directed to the BCA.

The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Little Falls Police, Minnesota State Patrol, Pierz First Response Team, Mayo Ambulance and Life Link III.
