Police try to arrest Nicki Minaj in Amsterdam for suspected drug possession: “I’m not going there”

Authorities at Amsterdam airport attempted to arrest rapper Nicki Minaj for suspected drug possession, despite the artist repeatedly stressing that she was not carrying any contraband.

An officer said they wanted to take the “Super Bass” singer into custody for “drug possession,” according to Instagram Live footage Minaj shared on Saturday.

“I’m not going in there. I need a lawyer with me,” replied the 41-year-old.

After some back and forth, Minaj apparently got into the police vehicle – but not without asking if she would attend her upcoming concert in Manchester, England.

The official said someone would “try to get her there as quickly as possible.”

It was not immediately clear whether Minaj – who is currently on her Pink Friday 2 World Tour – was actually arrested at a police station.

“Now they said they found weed and another group of people had to come here to weigh the pre-rolled joints,” Minaj wrote on X around 10:30 a.m. ET.

“Remember they took my bags without consent. My security already told them those pre-rolls belong to him. Oh and the pilot wants me to delete my IG post,” she added.

The rapper further complained that her plane had been delayed for at least two hours.

In her last update, shared just before 11 a.m. ET, she said police had asked her to make a statement at a police station.
