44-year-old suspect arrested for aggravated assault in Rockdale: TX

ROCKDALE, Texas – According to Rockdale Police, a suspect was arrested for an alleged aggravated assault that occurred on Friday, May 24.

Rockdale police have identified 44-year-old Quincy Arnett as a suspect. No injuries were reported in the attack, officials said.

According to officials, they were called to the Shady Grove RV Park at 987 W. US Hwy 79 around 2:50 a.m.

When officers arrived, they were being fired upon from a mobile home in the trailer park heading toward US 79. Rockdale officers took protective positions behind their vehicles and stopped all traffic on US 79 to protect bystanders while the suspect continued to fire toward officers.

According to officers, they approached the suspect’s residence in armored vehicles, whereupon he surrendered.

Arnett is charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a public servant. Bail has not yet been set, officials said.
