Pedestrian killed in accident in Fairfax County

The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene of the fatal accident.

HUNTINGTON, Virginia – A man was struck and killed by a driver in Huntington early Friday.

Officers with the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Department responded to North Kings Highway and Huntington Park Drive around 12:30 a.m. on a report of an accident involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, a man was found injured in the accident and pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s identity, including his age, name and origin, has not been disclosed.

The driver of the car remained at the scene of the accident. At this stage of the investigation, the police believe that alcohol and speed may have been the fatal consequences of the accident.

The driver involved was arrested.

The intersection was closed for the investigation but has now been reopened to traffic.
