One person is injured in a multi-car accident on Daniel Shays Highway in Orange

ORANGE, Mass. (WWLP) – Daniel Shays Highway in Orange was closed early Friday afternoon due to a multi-car accident.

According to the Orange Fire Department, a multi-vehicle accident occurred at 4:55 p.m. The vehicles involved were quickly pushed to the side of the road in order to reopen the road as quickly as possible.

Emergency crews worked diligently to remove the vehicles. The Orange Fire Department said one occupant was taken to Athol Hospital with injuries.

The New Salem Fire Department observed the accident in the engine compartment and stopped to render assistance. Another ambulance from the Athol Fire Department was also called to help.
