3 dead after small plane crashes outside Nashville en route to Louisville

Three people are dead after a small plane en route to Louisville, Tennessee, crashed Wednesday, according to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office. WLKY’s CBS affiliate WTVF said the plane crashed in Leiper’s Fork, about 45 minutes outside of Nashville. The plane was en route from Gonzales, Louisiana, to Louisville. WTVF was told by officials that the plane broke up in mid-air, but the control tower continued to attempt to reach the aircraft. The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Franklin Fire Department, Williamson County EMA and Williamson Health EMS all responded to the crash. The National Transportation Safety Board will come to Williamson County Wednesday evening.

Three people were killed when a small plane en route to Louisville crashed in Tennessee on Wednesday, according to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.

WLKY’s CBS affiliate WTVF said the plane crashed in Leiper’s Fork, which is about 45 minutes outside of Nashville.

The plane was flying from Gonzales, Louisiana, to Louisville.

WTVF was told by officials that the plane broke up in mid-air, but the control tower continued to attempt to reach the plane.
