Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, breaks ground on a new $46.5 million police and fire headquarters

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WATE) – Pigeon Forge Police and Fire Departments will soon have more room to grow. On May 13, emergency officials broke ground on the new police and fire headquarters in Pigeon Forge.

The $46.5 million project will be located next to Pigeon Forge City Hall, where the police and fire departments are currently located.

“Land in Pigeon Forge is very valuable,” said Eric Brackins, assistant city manager. “Now it is possible to expand and simply tear down the older buildings and build. It’s a heart of the community and so the location was important to staying where we are.”

The aim of the two new buildings is to give the agencies more room to grow.

“If you look at the current fire station or police station, we are bursting at the seams, we need more space. We have so many officers, we have so many firefighters – they can expect a new, state-of-the-art building with lots of room for future expansion and just better conditions,” Brackins said.

The new fire department headquarters is scheduled to open in summer 2025 and the police headquarters in summer 2026.
