18 people shot, 3 dead in Stockton, Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office confirms

UPDATE (4:33 p.m.): News 5 has learned more about a deadly shooting that occurred at a May Day celebration in the quiet community of Stockton.

According to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, about 1,000 people attended a May Day event in an open field on Upper Bryant’s Landing Road Saturday evening.


“According to witnesses, the event was peaceful until an argument broke out which led to this
that at least one subject fired multiple shots into the large crowd,” a BCSO spokesperson said.

According to BCSO, 18 people were shot, three of whom died from their injuries.

“We believe there may have been more shooters and we are following up on these leads,” the BCSO spokesperson said.

The Sheriff’s Office received investigative assistance from the Baldwin County Major Crimes Unit.

Additionally, “we would like to thank the Bay Minette Police Department, Loxley Police Department, Coastal Alabama Community College Police and ALEA for helping us gain control of a chaotic scene yesterday,” the BCSO said in a statement Explanation.

Now the sheriff’s office needs the public’s help.

“We are working very hard to bring this case to resolution, but without help we cannot make arrests or successfully prosecute the perpetrators,” the BCSO statement said. “The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in this investigation.

STOCKTON, Ala. (WKRG) – First responders responded to a call about a multiple-victim shooting in Stockton, Alabama just before 10 p.m. Saturday evening.

According to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, several people were injured at a concert celebrating May Day on Bryants Landing Road near Yates Lane.

The number of people injured and the extent of their injuries are currently unknown. Although BCSO has said deaths are possible.

The suspect is at large. There is currently no description available. All available law enforcement agencies were dispatched.
