Mother arrests man who allegedly lassoed sexual assault victim

NYPD arrested 39 year old Kashaan Parks Saturday and charged him with rape, strangulation, assault, sexual abuse, public indecency and harassment. Police released a video of the alleged crime last weekIn it, the suspect can be seen coming up behind the unsuspecting victim and throwing a belt around his neck.

According to police, the woman was choked unconscious before the suspect dragged her between two cars and sexually assaulted her.

Beverly Parks told the NY Post that she was responsible for bringing her son to the police. She says Kashaan’s wife told her Friday morning that he had choked and raped a woman… and then Beverly convinced him to surrender.

She says: “I called on my son to be held accountable for his actions, whether he was drunk, whether he was taking drugs, whether he was grieving. He did something wrong and he has to deal with it. Period.”

Beverly says her son found out his father died in Belize last month and has been unwell ever since.
