Teen airlifted after ATV accident during ride, another taken to hospital – Magnolia State Live

A teenager was injured and had to be flown to a hospital late Saturday afternoon after an ATV accident at a horseback ride and family gathering in Mississippi.

Adams County sheriff’s deputies planned to close US 84 near Windy Hill Road so the rescue helicopter could land. However, the nearby Core Civic Correctional Facility allowed the helicopter to land on its property.

The teen and another person were in an accident with a four-wheel-drive vehicle at the annual Fleming Crawfish Boil and Trail Ride, a private event on Windy Hill Road.

It is suspected that the injured teenager has a broken leg. The other injured person was transported to a hospital in a private vehicle.

No further information is available regarding the course of the accident.
