Man killed in fatal shooting in Vallejo

(KRON) – A man was shot and killed in Vallejo on Sunday, leading to the city’s sixth homicide this year, according to Vallejo police.

Vallejo police officers were notified of a shooting in the 1300 block of North Camino Alto on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Witnesses told emergency responders that a family member took the victim to a local hospital.

Hospital staff informed officers that the victim was receiving medical treatment. The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly afterwards.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Solano County Coroner’s Office.

According to police, the motive and circumstances of this shooting are currently under investigation.
