A young man is wanted by police in Philadelphia after assaulting an 87-year-old

Philadelphia police are searching for a male suspect after a brutal attack on an elderly man in Center City near Chinatown.

Police released surveillance video of what appeared to be a school-age student wanted in connection with a midday attack on an 87-year-old man in Center City near the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

According to police, the young man was on Arch Street between 10th and 11th streets shortly after 3 p.m. on April 24, shortly after most schools had dismissed students, when the 87-year-old victim tried to get through the door to get to a building. He asked the young perpetrator to move a little so he could get through.

That’s when, according to Philly police, the man struck the man with such force that it left a graze wound on his face and threw the elderly citizen to the sidewalk.

The police want to identify the teenager. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.
