Former USC WR arrested near LAX

Former USC football wide receiver Jordan Addison was arrested Friday night on suspicion of driving under the influence after he was found asleep at the wheel in Los Angeles, near LAX airport, the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Addison, who is finishing his rookie season with the Minnesota Vikings, was sleeping in a Rolls-Royce and blocking a lane on Highway 105. He was arrested at 11:36 p.m. Friday night and released at 1:36 a.m. Saturday. Further information is pending.

The Vikings released a statement saying, “We are aware of the arrest of Jordan Addison last Friday and are currently gathering additional information regarding the incident,” ESPN’s Kevin Seifert said.

Addison was previously stopped for speeding and reckless driving in Saint Paul, Minnesota in 2023. He pleaded guilty to speeding.

The news comes eight days after Addison’s teammate, Vikings rookie cornerback Khryee Jackson, was killed in a car crash along with two of his high school teammates, Isaiah Hazel and Anthony Lytton Jr., in which alcohol was believed to be a factor.

Addison just completed his rookie season with the Vikings, in which he caught 70 passes for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Previously, Addison spent the 2022 season at USC, where he was Caleb Williams’ top receiver during his Heisman Trophy-winning season. He finished his only season at USC with 59 catches for 875 yards and eight touchdowns. Before transferring to USC, Addison spent two seasons in Pittsburgh, where he was awarded the Fred Biletnikoff Award in 2021 after catching 100 passes for 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns.
