The local police chief was arrested and must appear in court on Monday

A local police chief, who is now on paid administrative leave following his arrest, must appear in court on Monday

NewsChannel 13 was first to report that Robert Danko was arrested last Wednesday and charged with false imprisonment and harassment.

He was arrested a week after his promotion to chief of the Cambridge-Greenwich Police Department.

The alleged victim in this case is a woman who knows Police Chief Danko.

She spoke to NewsChannel 13 and did not want to be identified.

She tells us that there was an incident between the two last month.

We have requested a copy of this report from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

We also request a copy of a separate statement made by this woman to Members on Wednesday.

On the same day, Danko was arrested and charged.

As soon as we receive a response from the Sheriff’s Office to these requests, we will notify you.

In the meantime, Danko is due to appear in court on Monday evening at 5 p.m.
